Talent is Overrated

As a kid, things always seemed to work out for me.

Whether it was piano, math, reading, arts, running, sports, swimming, Chinese checkers, sticker-trading/haggling, everything I learned quickly.

In Chinese we call it 上手快, which means "get up and running quickly."

Because things came to me so easily, I never had to practice, so I didn't bother.

Everything I wanted, I got. In relatively short order, with little effort. What was the point of practicing?
